Everything I Watched This Week

Hi guys!!

Welcome back to another fun-filled, celebrity induced, week of television here at MHH! With the new year comes award season and the premiere of many new shows, so let’s dive in to what all was watched.

77th Golden Globe Awards

My favorite award show!! My Super Bowl! I love the party feel of it; champagne bottles popping everywhere! And this year in particular, it felt star studded! Leo, Brad, Tom, Jen, Reese … not to mention the entire table of The Irishman. Usually, the show features a few big names, with the rest of the nominees consisting of up and comers. Not this year.

A few highlights:

  • I agree with Ricky Gervais: “So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.” You may disagree, you’re free to do that, but he’s 100% correct. And hilarious.
  • I love a montage. I love a Tom Hanks montage even more. Seeing Tom Hanks cry while accepting an award that honors his work, thus the montage … *chefs kiss!*
  • I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood this past weekend (finally!)

Screenshot 2020-01-07 at 10.18.05 AM

  • I couldn’t be happier to see Tarantino win, Brad win, and the movie win. Per usual, Leo got snubbed.
  • Speaking of the Leo snub, I have adored Taron Egerton since my first time seeing Kingsman; I’ve fallen even harder since the numerous times I’ve watched the movies. I enjoyed Rocketman (not my fav), but I suppose if Leo couldn’t win, I’m happy to see Egerton win. I think he’s the next Leo, maybe the more Millennial Leo.
  • Loved seeing Olivia Colman win for The Crown and her “boozy” comment was so cute!

In closing, I enjoyed every single thing about the Globes: loved Gervais, loved the celebs, and have made plans to go see 1917 in the upcoming weeks. I’ll report back!

The Bachelor

I didn’t plan to watch Peter’s season, but then I figured I’d give the first hour or so a try …

Image result for peter the bachelor gif

I found myself watching the entire show. However, in doing so I decided to be more of a consumer this season. Expect recaps to be sparse. In fact, I came up with my own hashtag (#whenIdvrTheBachelor) because with sleep training my sweet little one, I won’t be able to watch live and Tweet along either. Sad, but worth it.

The first three hours weren’t that cray until the last two dates:

  • While I love whateverhernamewas, I could NOT BELIEVE the very first one-on-one date was Peter’s parents’ vow renewal!!! That seems like something that would be very important to him (obviously, he ordained it!) … yet, now that I think, maybe it wasn’t as special and important as they made it out to be. It was filmed, so how personal could it have been? Hmm…
  • The Hannah B of it all. I am completely dumbfounded by everything that occurred. Okay, they tease her in the promo, but really she just returns to bring him back the wings he gave her on that season? Sure, I’ll take that. But the group date! The windmill story! The emotional breakdown at the end! I can’t decide if ABC paid/forced her to do it, or if everything was real. I definitely believe Peter was her guy last season, and that seemed confirmed with their chemistry on After the Final Rose. SURELY she’s not coming back; well we know she’s not because she was filming DWTS during that time … sheesh! For once, I don’t have an opinion! I don’t know what to think!

Vanderpump Rules Premiere

Image result for vanderpump rules premiere

Just quickly a few things …
  • Surprising myself, I think I’m going to enjoy the new people.
  • I love seeing the parties now in their new homes, rather than their tiny apartments.
  • I don’t care about the Kristen/Carter feud with the Witches of Weho and now with Lala. It sounds to me like Kristen cries to her friends about breaking up with Carter, yet still wants him in her life. I understand why it’s frustrating to her friends, but just ignore it. If she comes to cry to you, pat her shoulder, offer her a drink, listen for ten minutes, then kick her out to continue her messy relationship.

The season looks like it will be good. However, I still think Pump Rules needs to bring in an all new, young cast. Then, Stassi, Lala, Ariana, & Katie should become the Real Housewives of L.A.

In closing,

I watched Jersey and Dallas (holy reunion!!), plus binged Surviving R.Kelly (round two). Thursday, I got to see (AND MEET) my favorite comedian/influencer/podcaster, Girl With No Job (Claudia Oshry, The Morning Toast!). I watched the premiere of Siesta Key (if you’re not watching this season, freaking start!!) and finally, I listened to Leo & Brad on WTF with Marc Maron (BRILLIANT!!). All of this while sleep training my son. But, if celeb gossip & reality TV may not be your thing (why are you here again?), it’s my self-care and stress reliever from the things that are hard. Like sleep training. A 5 month old baby. So judge me for caring about fluff when there’s true terribleness in the world (donate here), but to you I ask, how do you unwind in such a turbulent time?

Whatever it is, I  hope you find your happy!

The OC is Out of Control

“I was rooting for you; we were all rooting for you!”

In recent years, I have very much become a member of Team Kelly Dodd, despite her past behavior …

… AND what about the “no wonder her daughter doesn’t speak to her” comment. I’ve swept it all under the bridge, forgiven her, and jumped on her bandwagon. I’ve also understood why she’s been so upset at the ladies recently, between Vicki’s coke accusation & Tamra’s train comment. But despite all of it, Kelly was back to her old ways on this week’s episode.

I’m not talking about hitting Shannon on the head; honestly, I don’t think Kelly even hit her that hard & Shannon will take any excuse to dramatically play the victim. I’m talking about everything nasty Kelly said to Gina (talk about kicking someone when they’re down …) & how awful she was to Tamra on the phone. Kelly just got downright dirty this week (oh! And did you catch her on WWHL?! Awkwwwwward!)

The Emily of it all….

I have a bone to pick with Emily too. I’m disappointed because she was another one I was cheering for this season.

I’m sad at how she’s treating Gina, who is a mess. Emily should have 💯 percent been sympathetic about why Gina wouldn’t go to Vegas and defended her when Kelly attacked Gina. I think Emily is simply jealous of Gina’s relationship with the blondes, plus she’s sad. She has to be; wouldn’t you be sad if you were married to Shane this season?

In closing …

While I’m not of the same mind with Kelly and how she acted this week,  I do agree with her that Shannon should not have been drinking if she had a concussion, and I can understand Kelly’s reasons to not trust Shannon (and if you’ve been keeping up with them presently, nothing seems better). I’m also glad Kelly made up & comforted Gina. You could say that Kelly redeemed herself in the end (until next week).

I’m proud of Vicki this episode. She stayed in her room when Kelly was talking about her right outside. She didn’t seem to start any drama either (yet). And one more time Kelly, TAMRA said “train” not Vicki (omg I’m defending Vicki 🤦🏻‍♀️).

The scene in the yoga studio confirmed to me that Emily is for sure jealous of Gina’s friendship with Tamra & Shannon. However, Emily handled herself well because Tamra & Shannon’s faces alone would have pissed me off.

The Orange County housewives are definitely bringing the drama this season and if you’re not watching due to lack of entertainment in the past, pick it back up asap!

Next week looks just as epic!🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊

32 Thoughts From the 2019 Emmys

Two of my favorites: award shows & television!

  • Critic’s predictions (if you care…)
  • Red Carpet tiiiiime!
  • Okay, so I missed a majority of the Red Carpet due to a fussy baby, but here are my takeaways…
    • Fox’s interviews were so awkward (sorry Jenny & Kelly …)
    • Everyone looked incredibly uncomfortable due to the heat, especially the makeup jobs. Plus the entire carpet seemed super congested and packed.
    • However, my favorite looks included Sophie Turner, Emilia Clarke, RuPaul, and Annie Murphy!

Showtime!

  • Why didn’t we just start with Walter White? This is really great! I didn’t get the Homer Simpson or Anthony Anderson bit.
  • A Mrs. Maisel win! I bet we will be seeing many of those tonight 🎭
  • Told you (Best Supporting Actor & Actress)!
  • Fox pushing their shows haaaaard!! (No one wants a second season of The Masked Singer …)
  • WTF is on Nick Cannon’s head?
  • Omg this show is going to go on for.ev.er if they continue to do stupid bits before each award. I’m really not liking this on Fox.
  • Love Phoebe Wallet-Bridge’s dress!

  • What is Fleabag?
  • I was convinced I watched a majority of the shows nominated …. in this first hour, I am being proven wrong.
  • Yeeeeeah! I don’t watch Barry, but I loved Bill Hader on SNL!
  • Did you hear the screams for Catherine O’Hara?? Robbed!!

Image result for schitts creek catherine ohara

  • Kim tripped huh? And were people booing her & Kendall?? (Edit: apparently it was laughter)
  • GOT babiesssss …. and a retelling of Season 8 …. and the cast on stage!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Here come the categories I don’t know & don’t care about …
  • ZANDAYA!🔥🔥🔥
  • I thought Chernobyl was a documentary ….

Bedtime!

If you’re a follower of the blog or a friend in life, you probably know we had a baby in July (Oh [Baby] Boy! Reality Check!!!) & this was my first award show to watch with him. So, I didn’t get to view it all live (bedtime was about 9pm); baby boy & I will stay off Twitter, wake up early, & finish the show in the morning … obviously commenting on anything maje!

Monday morning …

and all my favorite categories: Drama!

Image result for drama drama drama gif

  • Beyond happy for Peter Dinklage; him as Tyrion Lannister this season was the best performance of the show!
  • Ughhh, still so many annoying bits too!
  • YASSSSS Julia Garner! Obviously I was rooting for a GOT win, but if you watch Ozark, (which you should be!), you’d know how amazing and convincing she is as Ruth.
  • Billy Porter, from Pose, won Best Actor Drama. I’m glad for him and his amazing hat on this historic win, however, Pose was the only show nominated in this category I don’t watch, thus I was basically rooting for anyone, but Billy Porter. Still though, congrats!
  • Jason Bateman won for directing an episode of Ozark; I guess if he can’t win Best Actor, this works for me!
  • Jodie Comer wins for Best Actress and once again Mandy Moore is robbed of an Emmy for playing one woman at every phase of life (but childhood, I guess, if you want to get specific🙄).
  • Did Schitts Creek really not win anything, after finally getting respect & being nominated?

Image result for schitts creek gif

  •  Game of Thrones wins for Best Drama! Duh.

My final thought is a quote shared during the show from Chairman & CEO of the Television Academy, Frank Scherma, who, no one knows or cares about …. BUT! what he said stuck with me deeply because I feel it totally explains my blog, love of television, & why I watch so much content … he said:

“When someone says ‘You’ve got to see this,’ what they’re saying is ‘I want to share this experience with you'”

and that could not be MORE TRUE! He also went on to talk about instead of saying “hi” as a greeting, we now ask “What are you watching?” Television, movies, pop culture, etc. brings us together, helps us find common ground, and can build bonds. Hence, my love for it💖

I’m Currently Watching …

img_3823

Week 6 of maternity leave is in full effect. I love my baby & our time together! Besides his eating and pooping a lot, the two of us spend our days doing what else?? Watching & discussing television. His current favorites include …

Big Brother

I always root for an underdog, so I am wanting either Nicole or Cliff to come away as the winner. I thought it was interesting that CBS aired Nicole reading her Head of Household letter; it’s as if they want her to win America’s Favorite Player, or the network just wants to show that it actually cast at least one genuine, good person?

Speaking of a not so genuine or good person, Michie is HOH currently. As I write this, I already know who won the POV and what that person plans to do with it. All I can say is I really hope this plan goes through; we’ll just have to see tonight!

Bachelor in Paradise

I can’t believe Caelynn left with Dean, I’m kind of digging Dylan & Hannah’s relationship, and please get Nicole & Clay off my screen. Other than that? Snooze fest.

This is the last week for paradise, right? Doesn’t DWTS start next week? Every year that I watch Paradise, I kind of feel like the final couple episodes are extremely boring, and I’m just not as into it. I’m ready for the reunion; that’s all I care about at this point.

Friends

img_3819

This is my first time sitting down to watch Friends from the beginning, in order. Usually I catch an episode here & there if nothing else is on. I know, I know, I know. How is that even possible? Everyone has seen and loves this show! It’s just one I never really got into before.

I decided to start watching it as a light- hearted, stress reliever during my baby’s newborn phase of late nights, cry fits, & my emotional overthinking of every little thing; come to find out, the show has helped so so much! I would literally prescribe it to anyone ever feeling anxious or sad. I’m so in love & invested after only three seasons that I purchased some of the PJs from the Friends line at Walmart. You can get yours at the link below 👇🏻 !!

Wal-Mart

Chandler is obviously my favorite, who’s yours?

Dave Chappell & Travis Scott

My husband and I recently watched Dave Chapelle’s Netflix stand up special. I cannot stress enough how not only hilarious, but accurate it is in today’s climate. However, Chapelle is definitely not PC in it. I would take this as a warning if you decide to watch, especially if you are one that is easily offended🙄.

I also started to watch the Travis Scott documentary, but I couldn’t finish it. Maybe I just don’t get him or his music? Honestly I just wanted to watch for the Kylie of it all. Instead, it seemed like mostly concert footage, and I wasn’t in the mood. It didn’t seem to tell much about his life or background or anything; maybe I gave up too soon?

Football Sundays

Go Chiefs!!!

I’m also watching Potomac, Orange County, & Dallas Housewives, AND Keeping Up, all of which are not disappointing, but rather are seeeeeerving up entertainment!

Come find me on Twitter @myhollywoodh to follow my thoughts on all things Bravo & more😘

VMAs: a GIF story & a Pocket-Sized Post

How old I feel watching MTV:

especially the VMAs

How I feel when everyone is discussing the VMAs:

As I’ve pondered numerous times, I think I’m too old for anything MTV, especially the VMAs. For that reason, I didn’t plan to recap or blog the show, however, after watching and scrolling and hearing so much about the big moments, I obviously felt I, too, had to comment.

The opener was T Swizzle & obviously one of the main reasons we were all there. During “You Need to Calm Down,” I was all …

… but then during “Lover,” I was all …

I lived for her blinged purple jacket and her guitar playing!!

Another performance I was SO PUMPED for was the JoBros! I was a little upset that it wasn’t live, but their performance (and Joe’s Canadian Tuxedo) made me …

I just love them so much!

But. The most EPIC performance of the night was Queen Lizzo!

Between her outfit, dancers, the giant inflated booty, and her singing “Good as Hell,” her performance had me like …

I may be a little late to the Lizzo hype, but I’m all in on her now! Her self acceptance and message of positivity is what the world needs more of and I’m here for her success!

Miley, Normani, Lil Nas, and many people I didn’t know also performed, along with Shawn Mendes …

… then Shawn Mendes round two with Camila Cabello …

I still don’t believe they’re actually dating. Nor, do I want to believe it. Because, while I unhealthily stan Shawn Mendes, I despise Camila Cabello (RIP Fifth Harmony), and want better for him.

In closing, the show was fun to watch, albeit a little too long for this 30 something mama, but again, always fun.

Until next year ya’ll!!

Reality Check!!!

Oh, how much can change in a week!

I missed the Bachelorette finale Monday AND Tuesday.

img_3283

No live Tweets either!

I started a RHONY recap … but have yet to watch part three.

And it’s been over a week … !!!

At this point, my DVR is fuller than my milk ducts.

Why?

Because …

BABY HOLLYWOOD HANGOVER IS HERE!!

I’m not writing this to complain that my TV time has been taken away, or that I feel sorry for myself because it’s now breastfeeding over binge watching, or that I will never be able to post about the petty lives of celebrities again. Instead, I’m writing this in reflection (& celebration!!) of my first week as a new mom. Don’t worry, this won’t turn into a mommy blog, and I won’t gush on and on about truly amazing the motherhood experience has been (even though it’s the craziest, best thing I’ve ever done). But, what is it that Thomas Rhett sings? “Life chaaaaanges…” (Any country fans out there?)

I actually started this blog as a hobby to help distract me from the fact we were struggling to get pregnant. Now here we are; he’s here! My schedule doesn’t revolve around Bravo’s anymore, but rather, it revolves around 6 lbs of cuteness; my husband now discusses his favorite diaper brands, rather than the latest baseball scores. Nothing has been taken away though, only gained. I’m so blessed. And yes, I will still obsess over what a privileged, middle-aged woman said about her friends #guiltypleasure …. I just may not get to watch it or blog it as quickly or often as I used to.  And I’m perfectly okay with that!

Plus, Twitter & IG will be stay quite active, so always check in there to see what’s new!

For those missing the blog a bit, I added my notes (or what notes I had pre-labor) from the New York Reunion … see below!

“My lawyer always says anything can happen in a courtroom and anything can happen at a reunion …”

So much to unpack, but I’m glad you’re here!

Part 1:
-Dennis
-Dorinda vs. Lu

Before getting into the main topics of this first part of the reunion, I must say how fabulous all the ladies looked, even Lu with all her Claire accessories she was rocking (I can’t take credit for that joke; saw it on social media!). I thought each dress was unique to each housewife and the colors all went together well ….. unlike another city currently airing it’s reunion.

Okay so part one! The beginning of it focused quite a bit on Bethenny and everything she went through this season, from Dennis’s death to her own near death/allergy attack towards the end of the season. I don’t know if any of the other women on the couches would have been able to contain themselves or keep it as together this season as well as B did, despite everything she went through. Yes, I know she cracked under the pressure at dinner in Miami, but even then she was able to calm herself back down and be reasonable. As far as the reunion, I was happy she shared more into her relationship with Dennis and the dynamics of how it was so back and forth. I think gaining this much insight into what Bethenny went through this season will help viewers understand her feelings more toward Lu’s behavior that essentially will be discussed in further parts of the reunion.

Speaking of Lu, the remainder of the episode focused on Dorinda and Luann’s falling out stemming from last season’s “At least I didn’t get a mugshot!” drama and the Jovani of it all.

Image result for at least i didn't get a mugshot dorinda

“I don’t feel like you have any substance anymore.”

Image result for at least i didn't get a mugshot dorinda

Even last season, I never really understood where this huuuuge fight between them started. Let’s try. So Dorinda was hurt last year when Luann said “Oh here we go” or something about having another drink while they were on vacation in Cartengena. Then Dorinda made her famous, “At least I don’t have a mugshot” comment. Next, came the fact that Dorinda got Luann all those cabaret dresses (plus supported her in other ways), only to have Luann uninvite John to the show (which got brought up at this reunion, but I just don’t have the patience to discuss; I mean did she or didn’t she? Those texts didn’t solve anything for me). So Dorinda heckled Luann (yes, what she did was heckling), they talked about each other in the press all summer, and that’s where this season picked up??

I guess my summary of it was Dorinda felt she supported Luann, yet Lu wasn’t grateful, and Luann didn’t feel supported by Dorinda. However, the two hugged it out at the reunion, so we’ll see if everything truly is dropped, despite the fact that Andy “dropped” Lu’s new song, “Jovani” right in Dorinda’s lap.

Image result for real housewives of new york reunion season 11

Parts 2 & 3 (Notes):

  • If Tinsley only lives in New York during filing, she doesn’t deserve an apple.
  • Anyone even questioning if Ramona deserves another season is crazy. She deserves every season #millenniums
  • Lu is absolutely, 100% still drinking on the side.
  • Thank you Bravo for explaining Lu was in court a few days after the reunion; I was confused on the timeline.
  • Why are we judging Barbra for her tanner when Dorinda’s spray tan is 50 shades of too much?
  • The viewer question saying Lu’s show was the “spectacle of it all” …….. YAAAASSS!! 🤣🤣
  • “You weren’t disinvited!”
  • “You weren’t invited at all!”
  • “You’re the turnip!”
  • “That’s show business; They’re just jealous; This is the support I get?! Oh my god Lu, you’re an asshole”

AND … THE SHADE OF BRAVO TOASTING WITH VIRGIN MIMOSAS AFTER THAT WAS THE DRINK LU RELAPSED ON! What a way to cap off an amazing season!

Weekly Television Roundup

Sit and wait, sit and wait. That’s about all I seem to do these days because it’s any time now that my baby boy could arrive (Oh [Baby] Boy!). However, I have TV to keep me company, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on everything I watched this week.

PS: If you don’t have a baby coming, and you watched all these shows this week simply for enjoyment, zero judgement from me … because baby or not, I’d be right there with you 🙂

Sunday: Real Housewives of Potomac

screenshot-2019-07-17-at-11.20.41-am.png

If you are a Housewife stan and you’re not watching Potomac, ummm what are you thinking? YOU ARE MISSING OUT! These ladies bring it each episode, but this week’s was beyoooooond as news broke that Ashley’s husband sexually assaulted a camera man. I feel bad for Ashley to have to watch this in current time since she just had a baby (last week I think?), and everything in her world should be celebrated right now, not shadowed by this scandal.

As for the other women, Gizelle  was and continues to be so so messy each episode. Even though she’s my favorite, when I think of the drama the ladies have with one another, it’s usually started or prompted by Gizelle. I’m really liking Monique this season. I love her commentary and insight on all the arguments the women have because a) being pregnant, she’s the sober, silent observer & b) she tends to see every side and will tell people when they are right or wrong (cough, Candiace, cough). Robin doesn’t really do anything for me on the show, Karen is old & terrible, and Candiance is the absolute WORST. She’s immature and unreasonable, plus she needs to mind her own business and keep her opinions to herself.

Monday: The Bachelorette

Image result for the bachelorette hannah and luke

It was Fantasy Suites this week for Alabama Hannah, and she had four guys to spend the night with instead of three. I was shocked, shocked I tell you, that Peter was the windmill date (“Know what? We did it a second time”), mainly just because he doesn’t really ooze sex appeal to me. However, he is my overall pick for Hannah; Peter is who I can picture her with the most.

I appreciated that Hannah felt she needed time with Tyler that didn’t revolve around intimacy, and that she didn’t want to have sex with him in the Fantasy Suite; physicality is not an issue for them. But, I don’t think it was necessary for her to make a big speech or a big deal about it at their dinner. Why couldn’t she just tell him that in the privacy of the Fantasy Suite? It was like she had to let America know she wasn’t planning on sleeping with him. Also …

Screenshot 2019-07-18 at 5.29.41 PM

Jed sucks. Girlfriend or not, he sucks. His temper tantrum about being compared to Luke was unnecessary.  Speaking of unnecessary, why he told Hannah he loved her when a) he came on the show with a girlfriend, b) his family seemed surprised he brought Hannah home (for more on this see Take Back Home, Girl: Bachelorette Edition) and c) it seemed like he was using Luke as a way to leave & get back to said girlfriend. Or maybe not. Regardless of it all, Jed sucks.

But, speaking of Luke, his date was NUTS, wasn’t it? It felt like we were watching someone have a true epiphany right before our eyes, as Hannah found the light and realized how horrible Luke was/is. Not only that, I think she finally saw how easily he can manipulate (or attempt to), but also backtrack, so the person he’s talking to is never really sure what he’s trying to say (#gaslighting). Spoilers for next week’s Men Tell All claim it will basically be the reckoning of  Luke, and if you still are not convinced he’s a terrible human being, go check out the Twitter he just got, and how he attacked Hannah on it. Image result for roll eye emoji

Tuesday: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Image result for real housewives of beverly hills reunion 2019

Do you like bon bons?”

So the first part of the Beverly Hills Reunion aired this week, and quite frankly, it was a bit all over the place. First, it started with a flashback to the Season 3 reunion, where Adrienne didn’t show up, and LVP gave her commentary on it, basically saying it was cowardly and wrong for Adrienne to not be there. HA! The hypocrisy of it all! While there was bit more on Vanderpump’s absence, the focus then shifted to Denise, her joining the show, and her life. I really like her, although I’d like to see her get a bit more feisty (which it looks like she might with Camille).

Speaking of Camille, she arrived to the reunion couch next. I think we’ll get more into the drama with her in the next two weeks (is it two or three parts?). The episode ended with the Lucy Lucy Apple Juice drama, and how Teddi got involved or was involved in it. Even though we’re all so sick of discussing this, I felt it was important to hear how Teddi was pulled in from the beginning. I had no idea it was because Dorit didn’t invite her to dinner after last year’s reunion (that was the reason right?). Regardless, Teddi’s feet were really held to the fire about how, yes, she was involved, and it was mainly Andy interrogating her. This will continue more next week I’m sure!

Wednesday: Southern Charm

Image result for southern charm colorado trip   Image result for southern charm colorado trip

Colorado, here they come! While I enjoyed watching this week’s Southern Charm, it was also a little boring at the same time. I mostly am just ready for the reunion because I want everyone held accountable for their actions this season, with footage to back it up. What am I talking about? Well I want Whitney to have to answer for hooking up with Kathryn and then blatantly denying it. I want Craig to have to answer for all his crazy outbursts. I want Austen to have to answer for cheating on Madison (did he actually have a threesome in that ridiculously repeated video?? “MADISON!!”) and where they currently stand today. Finally, I want Cameran to have to answer for all her motherhood comments. As for this week’s episode, it was fine, mostly just them traveling. I’m excited to see more of their actual trip!

Thursday: RHONY Reunion

Image result for real housewives of new york reunion season 11

I plan to recap the reunion in its entirety on a separate post, so you’ll just have to be a bit more patient on this one! However, part two did not disappoint!

In addition: Stranger Things & Younger

My husband and I finished binging the third season of Stranger Things this week. I won’t get too much into into because I don’t want to give away spoilers, but the ending absolutely wrecked me; I admit, I bawled my eyes out.

In my opinion, the season as a whole was the best yet. It was scarier, yet more intriguing, and the scenes between Steve, Robin, Dustin, and Erica were my favorite!

Image result for stranger things season 3

I’m also currently trying to get caught up on Younger. Anyone watch? I won’t dive too much into it either (so if you don’t watch you can skip this section), but currently I’m in the middle of season five. First off, Direct TV and TV Land need to figure their shiz out because I can’t pull up the episodes on Demand, so I have to watch on my leeetle phone screen (#firstworldproblems). Liza needs to figure some things out as well. While I was always rooting for her and Charles, now that he knows her secret, he’s being a little butthead about it, so I just want Liza to quit Emperical, marry Josh, give him the baby he wants, plus deserves, and just live her best life with him! Also, Hillary Duff is the true queen of this show and the main reason I watch!

Image result for younger season 5

Well I think that’s it!! Whew, we made it! See you all next week with a RHONY Reunion recap, a Queer Eye binge, and hopefully a baby!!

Thank you television, social media, and my husband for keeping me sane these last few weeks before Hollywood Hangover Baby arrives!

“We’re All Going to Die, But At Least We Die Together” GOT Recap 8×2

Screenshot 2019-04-22 at 5.33.50 PM
I thought that last week’s premier would be one of my favorites this season, but this week’s is looking to be my favorite Game of Thrones episode of all time! I mean, Brienne being knighted by Sir Jamie? Arya and Gendry? Before we get to that, here were the main plot points:

  • The opening scene had Jamie coming before those in charge at Winterfell, with a promise to fight the dead, while Daenerys narrated the terrible things he’d done against her family. Tyrion attempted to vouch for him, but ultimately, Brienne of Tarth convinced them all to allow Jamie to stay.*
  • Arya and Gendry flirted.
  • Jamie apologized to Bran; Bran reminded us he’s still an angsty teen.*
  • Tyrion and Jamie reunited.*
  • Brienne and Jamie reunited.*
  • Daenerys and Sansa attempted to have a sisterly moment, until Sansa reminded her, “What about the North?”
  • Theon returned.
  • Tormand and the others returned.
  • All the main players started to strategize battle plans; Bran said the Night King would come for him mostly and wants to be used as bait.
  • Tyrion and Bran seemed to have a bonding moment.
  • Jamie and Tyrion discussed the last time they were at Winterfell (Episode 1×1) and that now they will most likely die there; many others came to join their discussion circle.
  • Tormand told his “giant’s milk story.”
  • Arya reunited with the Hound.
  • ARYA AND GENDRY had s-e-x!!!!!*
  • Tyrion recounted the most famous battles everyone lived through; Sir Jamie knighted Brienne; Podrick sang.*
  • Jon told Dany the truth about his past.
  • and all of this was without a single Cersei scene!!

The return of Jamie Lannister

Image result for jaime lannister season 8

I freaking love Jamie Lannister and I love him most this season because he left Cersei behind and stared dreamily at Brienne, which gives me hope for them to be together in the end (even though I believe his dreamy looks are more so out of admiration love than lusty love).  Let’s dive a little deeper into all the Jamieness this episode.

First Dany needs to cut him a break. Sure, he murdered her father, but it’s only because the Mad King was going to burn King’s Landing to the ground. Jamie even admits he was defending his home and his family, so why stay so angry with him?

I loved seeing him and Tyrion back together (even though I don’t reeeeeally think Tyrion is his brother, but I’ll save that theory for later). I loved his interaction with Bran, especially the fact that Jamie apologized, admitted he’s changed, and appeared to have an actual discussion with Bran. Most people these days who talk to Bran just get his moody vagueness.

Lastly, how sweet was it that Jamie not only knighted Brienne, but also said he wanted to serve under her command during the battle against the White Walkers?? Her tears were all of our tears and Tormand’s smile was all of our smiles as we watched this lovely moment when Jamie showed Brienne of Tarth the respect she utmost deserves.

Arya and Gendry

On the one hand, I totally want to be like, “Get it Arya girl!” I mean, we’ve watched her and Gendry awkwardly flirt for two episodes now, plus felt some sort of connection between the two back in Season 1 when they first met (even if it was only a friendship connection then). Also, Gendry is looking damn fine these days (what am I saying; he’s always been pretty fine).

On the other hand (which much of Twitter agreed), to us Arya will always be like what, twelve? I can totally see how this intimate scene was more awkwardsville for fans than most GOT sex scenes. In fact, it might have been the most cringe worthy of them all (even if we did want it to happen).

Overall thoughts on the episode
too many reunions?

Game of Thrones can never seem to win with their fans, right? Last season, people were upset because the action was moving too fast (like Gendry really made it back to Daenerys in time, only for her to arrive with the dragons in time, before everyone all froze to death?? Suuure …) and yet now fans are complaining that the first two episodes of Season 8 have had zero action.

I, however, am in the minority on this. If you read my post last week over GOT, you would know I prefer a little more conversation, a little less action. In fact, I am living for all these reunions that remind us fans everything we’ve endured and everything these characters have endured the past eight seasons. Like, what is wrong with reminiscing a bit? Also, don’t tell me this episode was some sort of closure or goodbye to everyone because they’re all going to die in the battle against the dead. How could that happen when we still have three more episodes after the fight to end all fights? Logistically, everyone can’t die if there are still three more episodes to go, but also the fight can’t last for 320 minutes. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see … for which I couldn’t be more excited! (And scared.)

Where has My Hollywood Hangover Been?!

I totally blame Arie Luyendyk for my lack of wanting to blog. After allllll those hours of the Bach finale, including that “uncut” footage, I just have not felt the tv inspiration or my want to discuss, hence the lack of posts.

And I promise I’ll let everyone know when a post drops because we all know there isn’t a lack of material … see below!

“And the actor goes to …” 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards Recap (Pocket-Sized)

“We are living in a watershed moment in time and as we march forward with active momentum and open ears, let’s make sure we are leading the charge with empathy and diligence, because fear and anger never win the race.” — Kristen Bell, 2018 SAG Awards Host

Image result for kristen bell gif

Ahh yes, another award show where actors toot their own horns by giving awards out to one another. However, here I am watching, but if I must watch, then I must critique! Don’t worry though, my critiques won’t be too tiresome; this is only a small batch, pocket-sized post! First up is Kristen Bell. She’s quoted above because she hosted the award show and was actually the show’s first ever host.  I just love love love love, love her so much. For all her great moments from the show, click here!

What I Learned

The thing I like most about the SAG Awards is it’s actors recognizing and awarding actors, which has to be a huge compliment right? I can only imagine if I went to an award ceremony for teachers, with the awards being presented by fellow teachers. That would have to be an extremely large pill to swallow because teachers do not like to credit other teachers (not all, some, okay most, hopefully I’m not offending all my teacher readers right now; please don’t leave). But it’s easier, probably in any profession, to celebrate one’s own acheivements, rather than recognize others.

“My students scored this score on the state test” or “Look at this wonderful email a parent sent me telling me what a great job I do.” I’m sure actors are the same: “My movie made this much money” or “Look at the great review my movie received.” So, I would imagine winning an SAG Award is a big deal because people who usually want to brag on themselves this time want to brag on you!

Shout out to some of my favs on winning: This Is Us, Sterling K. Brown, Claire Foy, and Nicole Kidman!

What I Loved

Mother, freaking, girl power. I knew that Bell being the first ever host as a woman was a huge deal, and I knew the show was branded as “female-powered.” But, it wasn’t until the next day I realized, “Oh wow, only females presented!” It was really awesome to see; read more here!

What I Remembered

Still disappointed in myself as I have yet to see any of the films nominated this awards season; I’m such a failure.

Fashion

I guess the “let’s all wear black” protest was over because there were many hues to found on the SAG red carpet. My picks for best dressed went to Kristen Bell (her red carpet look; she had quite a few wardrobe changes as host’s normally do, but actually looked amazing in all of them!), Nicole Kidman, Samara Weaving, and Yara Shahidi (pantsuit with a train for the WIN!)

My favorite looks of the night!

I really hate to have a worst dressed list because I get it, “fashion is art” and shit but low and behold here they are. Millie, you may be thirteen, but you can’t wear your Chucks to an award show; sorry, you can’t. I don’t even have to explain why I hate Kate’s dress, I mean you have eyes right? Same with Kate Nash. Maybe it was an off night for girls named Kate. Ugh, and Lupita almost made my list for best dressed until the camera panned down to the bottom of her dress. #nope (Her body looked sick though!)

Sorry ladies, not my favorite.

Lastly, why was Morgan Freeman wearing a hat?!

Moving Forward.

We have Oscar nominations tomorrow and the Grammys on Sunday! I love awards season!
