Everything I Watched This Week

Hi guys!!

Image result for golden globes 2020 gif

Welcome back to another fun-filled, celebrity induced, week of television here at MHH! With the new year comes award season and the premiere of many new shows, so let’s dive in to what all was watched.

77th Golden Globe Awards

My favorite award show!! My Super Bowl! I love the party feel of it; champagne bottles popping everywhere! And this year in particular, it felt star studded! Leo, Brad, Tom, Jen, Reese … not to mention the entire table of The Irishman. Usually, the show features a few big names, with the rest of the nominees consisting of up and comers. Not this year.

Image result for golden globes 2020 gif

A few highlights:

  • I agree with Ricky Gervais: “So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.” You may disagree, you’re free to do that, but he’s 100% correct. And hilarious.
  • I love a montage. I love a Tom Hanks montage even more. Seeing Tom Hanks cry while accepting an award that honors his work, thus the montage … *chefs kiss!*
  • I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood this past weekend (finally!)

Screenshot 2020-01-07 at 10.18.05 AM

  • I couldn’t be happier to see Tarantino win, Brad win, and the movie win. Per usual, Leo got snubbed.
  • Speaking of the Leo snub, I have adored Taron Egerton since my first time seeing Kingsman; I’ve fallen even harder since the numerous times I’ve watched the movies. I enjoyed Rocketman (not my fav), but I suppose if Leo couldn’t win, I’m happy to see Egerton win. I think he’s the next Leo, maybe the more Millennial Leo.
  • Loved seeing Olivia Colman win for The Crown and her “boozy” comment was so cute!

In closing, I enjoyed every single thing about the Globes: loved Gervais, loved the celebs, and have made plans to go see 1917 in the upcoming weeks. I’ll report back!

The Bachelor

I didn’t plan to watch Peter’s season, but then I figured I’d give the first hour or so a try …

Image result for peter the bachelor gif

I found myself watching the entire show. However, in doing so I decided to be more of a consumer this season. Expect recaps to be sparse. In fact, I came up with my own hashtag (#whenIdvrTheBachelor) because with sleep training my sweet little one, I won’t be able to watch live and Tweet along either. Sad, but worth it.

The first three hours weren’t that cray until the last two dates:

  • While I love whateverhernamewas, I could NOT BELIEVE the very first one-on-one date was Peter’s parents’ vow renewal!!! That seems like something that would be very important to him (obviously, he ordained it!) … yet, now that I think, maybe it wasn’t as special and important as they made it out to be. It was filmed, so how personal could it have been? Hmm…
  • The Hannah B of it all. I am completely dumbfounded by everything that occurred. Okay, they tease her in the promo, but really she just returns to bring him back the wings he gave her on that season? Sure, I’ll take that. But the group date! The windmill story! The emotional breakdown at the end! I can’t decide if ABC paid/forced her to do it, or if everything was real. I definitely believe Peter was her guy last season, and that seemed confirmed with their chemistry on After the Final Rose. SURELY she’s not coming back; well we know she’s not because she was filming DWTS during that time … sheesh! For once, I don’t have an opinion! I don’t know what to think!

Vanderpump Rules Premiere

Image result for vanderpump rules premiere

Just quickly a few things …
  • Surprising myself, I think I’m going to enjoy the new people.
  • I love seeing the parties now in their new homes, rather than their tiny apartments.
  • I don’t care about the Kristen/Carter feud with the Witches of Weho and now with Lala. It sounds to me like Kristen cries to her friends about breaking up with Carter, yet still wants him in her life. I understand why it’s frustrating to her friends, but just ignore it. If she comes to cry to you, pat her shoulder, offer her a drink, listen for ten minutes, then kick her out to continue her messy relationship.

The season looks like it will be good. However, I still think Pump Rules needs to bring in an all new, young cast. Then, Stassi, Lala, Ariana, & Katie should become the Real Housewives of L.A.

In closing,

I watched Jersey and Dallas (holy reunion!!), plus binged Surviving R.Kelly (round two). Thursday, I got to see (AND MEET) my favorite comedian/influencer/podcaster, Girl With No Job (Claudia Oshry, The Morning Toast!). I watched the premiere of Siesta Key (if you’re not watching this season, freaking start!!) and finally, I listened to Leo & Brad on WTF with Marc Maron (BRILLIANT!!). All of this while sleep training my son. But, if celeb gossip & reality TV may not be your thing (why are you here again?), it’s my self-care and stress reliever from the things that are hard. Like sleep training. A 5 month old baby. So judge me for caring about fluff when there’s true terribleness in the world (donate here), but to you I ask, how do you unwind in such a turbulent time?

Whatever it is, I  hope you find your happy!

A Decade of Housewives

With the coming of 2020 and the ending of a decade, I’ve seen many Bravo countdowns on Twitter, and I wanted to join in on the fun! I saw one account list its Top 25 Housewives, and Bravo even asked viewers to post their favorite moment from the past ten years. I decided to do something just a bit different; while thinking back on all of the unforgettable moments the Real Housewives have given us, I started wondering what were the most earth shattering, unbelievable, and unforgivable? What were the story lines that were so incredulous and out there, you just had to keep watching to see how everything would play out? Instead of a “favorites” list, I decided to discuss the biggest scandals that rocked the Housewives, not just in the past decade, but ever!!!

Orange County: Brooks fakes cancer

Image result for brooks faked cancer

“I was connnnnnnnned!”

There have been lies and rumors flying around the OC for 14 seasons now: Did Gretchen cheat on her dying fiance? Is Eddie gay? Did Kelly do a train? But the biggest deception to come from the citrus franchise has to be Brooks pretending to have cancer. If you recall, he started dating Vicki, manipulated her relationships with her family & friends (remember the awful things he said about Vicki’s daughter?), got Vicki to pay for his new teeth … and just when everyone started to turn against them, he played the cancer card to gain back sympathy.

Image result for brooks cancer gif

Not only did the psychic say it, but between Queen MKE’s investigating and a Brooks in the Clubhouse sit down with Andy, everything came out in the end. To lie about something that takes loved ones away from their families is absolutely disgusting; I can’t even say how I feel about Brooks because there are no words, so let’s move on.

Atlanta: Kandi drugs Porsha

Image result for kandi drug porsha storyline

Okay no, Kandi did not drug Porsha and I never for a moment thought so. But Ms. Phaedra Parks put the crazy idea into Porsha’s head: that Kandi wanted to drug Porsha to then, well, um, how do I say this, “do things” with P. What the actual F was Phaedra thinking?! AND whhhhy would Porsha believe her? Well, I guess they were BFFs at the time … (gah that seems like forever ago!).

Image result for kandi drug porsha storyline

Not only did it cancel their friendship, it pretty much got Phaedra kicked off the show (that was never proven, but true fans know). Poor Kandi, it could have ruined her businesses, her reputation, gosh, even got her in trouble with the law!

Image result for kandi drug porsha storyline

The Atlanta ladies fight dirty (Porsha & Kenya anyone??), but this had to be one of the most disturbing lies played out in ATL.

Dallas: LeeAnne’s racist comments

Image result for leeanne locken racist

This is ongoing; I just finished part 1 of the Dallas reunion and sheesh, LeeAnne has some major explaining to doooooo. I won’t repeat the awful things LeeAnne said about Kary Brittingham, not just once, not just twice, but at least three different times.

Image result for leeanne locken racist

For all the abuse LeeAnne suffered as a child, and for all the advocacy she does in her adult life, I was truly shocked to hear the things she said, AND see her continued treatment of Kary on the reunion (and lack of a sincere apology on social media). Since the part of the reunion that covered these topics hasn’t aired yet, we’re unsure how/if Bravo will continue with LeeAnne, but I really do believe her comments this season will end her run on the show.

New Jersey: Teresa & Joe go to jail

Image result for teresa giudice jail

Table flipping, Danielle’s past, Melissa stripping (?!) … there have been many unforgettable moments in Jersey. I mean, who can forget the POSCHE fashion show?

Related image

Which year?

Not to mention all the seasons we watched Teresa fight with her family. (“Stop hurting us!”) But, Jersey will always be remembered for its biggest star and her husband going to prison for fraud. In real time, Joe has been deported; he lives in Italy and will never be able to return to live in the United States. I can’t believe it, mostly because of the hurt it has caused his four amazing girls (Gia for President!), but also that everything, every part of this story, aired on Bravo. I guess if you start showing your dirty laundry, you might as well just show it all, plus they obviously need(ed) the money. I hate to be the person to say it, but I’m tired of hearing about the drama between Joe and Teresa; Tre, just date the nice pool man, let Joe find a kind Italian girl … and then raise your beautiful girls in harmony, even if you’re oceans apart.

Image result for teresa giudice jail

I can’t with this photo; Tre’s pose!?

Beverly Hills: Kim is an alcoholic

Image result for kim and kyle fight in limo gif

“You stole my goddamn house!”

Accusations of doing cocaine, “Puppy Gate,” & surrogates have all been popular scandals that shook Beverly Hills, but I don’t think anything was harder to watch (& longer played out) than Kim Richard’s sobriety. After she sat down with Andy …

Image result for kim richards sits down with andy

… confirming she is in fact an alcoholic, thinking back on the early seasons (and catching reruns), they’re viewed with a different lens. It’s really difficult to stomach the scenes of Kim fighting with Kyle; remember that weird boyfriend Kim had in season two, the group vacation they took where she was late to everything and fought with Mauricio, but kept calling him Maurice?

Image result for kim richards ken blumenfeld gif

If you’re a true BH fan, you know Kim eventually got arrested for shoplifting and things didn’t seem to get better between her and Kyle for a long while. In real time, Kim is no longer on the show and truly seems happy being a grandmother. I don’t follow her on social media, but I wish her all the joy, success, and good luck for her future!

RHOBH runner ups:
Taylor Armstrong’s husband (“But now we said it!”)
Yolanda and Munchhausen

New York: It’s about Tom

Image result for tom and luann

I always thought the craziest thing Luann aired was the pirate scandal, remember that? Then came Tom. First it was totally nuts that she dated Jacque way longer than Tom, yet never got engaged to J, but knew Tom for a minute and was ready to marry him. Also, what about the fact that Tom was a “lover” of Sonja’s and kissed/dated Ramona too, right? Even though “committed” to Lu, Tom’s dirty ways didn’t stop.

Image result for dont let it be about tom

Image result for dont let it be about tom

Honestly, I don’t remember if the whole “Please don’t let it be about Tom” scandal was pre-engagement, or post-engagement but pre-wedding, regardless, it was bad. Luann stuck by her man though, which led to a horrible marriage and eventual divorce, and ultimately, the most bizarre police tape of a housewife arrest in history.

You can watch the entire thing on YouTube.

Potomac: Michael’s many missteps

Related image

None of us really care if he is or isn’t, but Michael’s inappropriate actions towards men, while married, was wrong. It’s also been a story line since season one, so obviously where there is smoke, there’s fire. The lost footage that apparently was found this last season, on top of the fact that there was an actual allegation put out there has rocked Potomac. What else has been a consistent show topic besides this, Karen’s finances? I’m very curious to see how the next season shapes up now that Michael and Ashley have a baby together. Although I did hear she’s off the show; guess we’ll see.

Well, there you have it! My list of the plot lines in Housewife history that are so ridiculous, they have to be made up!  Yet, we continue to watch. The debate over viewers’ judgement (especially in the Twittersphere) on reality television stars is comical to me because if someone is going to lie or commit bad behavior, while a camera crew follows their movements, they deserve to be judged. Don’t for one second say you watch these shows to feel sympathy for the cast; we watch to be entertained by the shocking moments. If it’s too much for you, stop watching. (But don’t ever stop reading my blog!)

Until next time!!

(ps … I enjoy the Twittersphere! Come follow me and discuss: @myhollywoodh !!!)

Jersey & Dallas Recaps

Hello and welcome!! If you’re curious about my housewives recaps, I’m trying something new (read more here!) Otherwise, let’s begin!

RHONJ: “Cut From A Different Cloth”

Image result for rhonj recap cut from a different cloth

“Horses, beaches, fights.
Jackie versus Dolores.
This one was boring.”

Honestly, I would have preferred to watch the husbands playing poker; that was more entertaining. They were so funny! The Jersey husbands have always been my favorites. However, the show centers on the women, so I guess we must discuss them. I really thought Teresa was going to go off more when she pulled down that sign about 21 year olds; in my notes, I even put “Here comes the Teresa bomb.” Instead the episode focused mostly on Jackie and Dolores. I feel like Jackie needs to let stuff go, but at the same time, she was right when she said the women have a history of really escalating arguments (cue a montage). Other then that, and the mention of clogged toilets & respect, not much went on besides Jennifer falling into an ocean full of s***.

RHOD: “One Fight in Bangkok”

Image result for rhod one fight in bangkok

“LeeAnne, you’re my GIRL,
But sadly, you’re so wrong here.
You think she agrees?”

First, it the was turning of the elephant visit into a drama fest, with her explaining that each elephant is “broken” and that she can relate. I understand LeeAnne had a horrible childhood, but I found myself thinking the same thing as Brandi: LeeAnne tends to make so much of everything about herself. Then, there was LeeAnne’s not wanting to buy a friendship bracelet, when it was simply supposed to be for fun to remember their trip. The “Mexican” comment from last week never came up (because Stephanie Hollman is a saint), but LeeAnne made another offensive comment about Kary (in the taxi ride towards the end of the episode), plus the entire LeeAnne/Kary back & forth was annoying … it was totally because LeeAnne was jealous that Kam was paying attention to Kary. Speaking of Kameron, her whiteboard & Expo marker demonstrations deserve an Emmy!

Next week looks pretty intense for the Dallas ladies, and unfortunately, LeeAnne still seems to be in the wrong. We’ll see!

Housewives Haiku

Welcome to the first addition of “Housewives Haiku!” If you don’t know what a haiku is, look it up. My goal is to recap the housewives each week in a simple form, with just a few added notes in-between. If you’ve been a fan of MHH, then you know I recently had a baby, (if not you can read about it here and here!!) and I don’t have time for my typical, long-winded recaps (I’m sure they’ll be back from time to time). So hopefully this format allows me to better keep up a bit … because even with my sweet sweet boy, mama needs a break at times, and my girls on Bravo help with that!

First up: RHOA “The Regift That Keeps on Giving”

Image result for real housewives of atlanta season 12 episode 4

Kenya is messy,
yet, I’m so here for the shade!
Cynthia? Girl, bye!

I’m sick of the Cynthia and Nene feud, who cares, it’s happened before. I also feel like, why is Cynthia starting this random friendship with Eva, plus starting in with Kenya (who is supposed to be her close friend), and then also bringing around “I’m that b**** Yovanna” whoever she is …? Everything seems like Cynthia is trying to keep herself relevant for the show … which I guess was what Nene basically said about her, to continue said feud; that Cynthia is looking desperate? That’s not really cool of Nene to say, though because she’s freaking annoying too! Remember her behavior and attitude at last season’s reunion (Rose & Thorn: RHOA Reunion) ?? Eck. If anything, I’m just wanting more Porsha and Kenya friendship, Kandi is interesting to me, so she can have more screen time too; Marlo taking in her nieces and nephews (she was incredible this episode btw), make that a story line, please! But, time to cancel Nene and Miss “Chill”.

Then, RHOC “Wild Wild Key West”

Image result for real housewives of oc wild wild key west"

Never thought I’d say,
OC is so good right now.
Holy! Reunion!

By that, I mean the reunion is going to be cray. Speaking of cray, could you imagine being at that bar at one in the morning, hearing grown women yelling at each other, calling one another sluts?! Could you even more imagine being those guys, driving the little tiki boats, hearing the housewives say the things they said? Screaming, gesturing the way they did; Kelly again calling Vicki a pig? I mean, my dream in life is to witness a housewife fight in person, but if you didn’t know these people?! I can’t imagine what someone would think. As for the fights, I’m not sure whose side I’m on. Kelly gives a low blow, then apologizes, then gives another low blow. But at the same time, the tres amigas aren’t innocent either. I think I’m Team Emily this episode; she had some great one-liners, especially comparing the women to drag queens *cough* Vicki. And speaking of Vicki, a special haiku for her …

Little family van.
Never been with multiples.
I was the one conned.

Check back for another addition of “Housewives Haiku” in which we’ll recap Jersey & Dallas!

“I Wish I Had a River …” (pocket-sized post)

I have been meaning and meaning to post a recap about the brilliant Netflix show, The Politician. However, every time I sit down to start, I’m not sure where to begin. Mostly because I don’t know how to write a recap without giving too much away.

Image result for the politician gif

So what I will say is this: just watch it. If not for Ben Platt, then watch for Gwyneth; she’s brilliant in it. The show is an extremely easy binge because some episodes run a full 45 min to hour, but some are only 20 or so minutes long. If you were a Glee or Scream Queen fan, you’ll more than enjoy it,  Plus, the final episode sets the show up to have an amazing second season.

What are you doing here still reading this?? Go binge the show now!!!

Mirror Mirror Mirrorball, Who is the Best Dancer of Them All?

I’ve never been a big Dancing With the Stars fan, and by that, I mean I’ve never watched an entire season of the show. Sure, I’ve caught it here and there, if nothing else was on, or there was a certain celebrity I was curious to see dance. But this year …

From the beginning I only started watching to see how Hannah and Karamo would do, but I have found I’m loving the entire show so much!

Kel

I like Kel. I think he’s a good dancer, and I’m rooting for him out of Nickelodeon nostalgia!

James

My three month old wouldn’t stop cooing during this performance, so I think he’s a Van Der Beeker. I can’t say that I am though. I don’t know why, but James bugs the crap out of me. Dawson’s Creek was before my time, so can’t say I’m a fan there, plus he is in desperate need of a new haircut. While I think he dances well, I’m not rooting for him.

Ally

Sure, I enjoy me a Fifth Harmony bop here and there, but I don’t care much for Ally. Similar to James, there is just something about her that bugs me. My favorite part of her dance this week was when the backup dancers came out.

Hannah

My girl! I root for Hannah every week and thought her Halloween dance was so so cute; very 80s vibe!

I can totally see how Karrie Ann would say Hannah is a bit closed off; that’s the pageant training. However, I trust my darling girl to get it figured out and BRING IT next week!

Karamo

I really thought Karamo would be better this season, based off his confidence and swag skills on Queer Eye. Sad to see him go.

Lauren

I remember watching Lauren Alaina on American Idol, and it’s fun to root for her again on a competition show! If Hannah can’t win, I vote for Lauren!

Sean

I always fast forward through his dances, although this week my husband watched with me and wanted to see Spicer dance. It’s not only difficult to watch, but I hate hearing/seeing his low scores. I agree that he does try hard, but like, can’t you go home now?

Kate

At this point in the show, my sweet baby was too fussy to keep watching, so by the time this is posted, I’ll have watched her dance (& the group dances) on the DVR/next day. I don’t have anything against Kate, and she is a good dancer, but I’m not an Office fan, so I really have no reason to cheer for her. I always love to see a female succeed on this show, but I’d rather root for Hannah or Lauren instead.

So. Who you got??

Also, never forget ….

How Friends Saved Me

“I’ll be there for you…”

This weekend, Netflix sadly gave me a notification during my Friends binge, letting me know I’ll no longer be able to be view the show anymore starting January 1st.

Image result for crying gif friends

I still have a few weeks left, yet I’m already having anxiety about its leaving, and not just because it has become one of my favorite shows. I started watching Friends on maternity leave with my first child. The struggle was real, ya’ll. While I love, adore, cherish, and am obsessed with my son, those first couple months were hard. Like, really hard. Like, more people should talk about how hard it truly is.  Yes, my TV days were out the window (Reality Check!!), but baby boy still slept quite a bit during the day, and I found myself needing something to watch, perhaps something I didn’t have to fully focus on as I do with Housewives (I focus hard on housewives; it is not just mindless television), I decided to start Friends. By start, yes, I’d never fully watched the show. I’m a millennial; the show was before my time (think more Gen X).

What. Was. I. Thinking?? WHY did I never start watching this sooner? Why did I always get upset when reruns aired, thinking to myself, “Ugh, nothing’s on.”

This was and is brilliant television!

Image result for friends gif happy

I’m not even sure I can put into words how the show eased my anxiety of first time motherhood fears, but thank heavens for it. I found smiles and laughter during a time when I was absolutely scared to death (seriously, I asked myself over & over how the hospital could let us leave with this small human; how could we now be the ones in charge?).

From Ross’s sad “Hi” …

Image result for ross hi gif

to Chandler’s sarcastic comments …

to everything Phoebe did or said …

Image result for phoebe buffay gif

Image result for phoebe buffay gif

… I giggled, and giggled, and giggled some more! Often loudly! Never had a show made me laugh out loud more than Friends. Besides laughing, I now understand so many pop culture references I had heard, but never understood, like “SEVEN!” or “Smelly cat” or the Holiday Armadillo!

Image result for christmas armadillo gif

I guess my point is, besides the fact that I’m beyond angered I never started the show sooner, I’m so thankful for it. Thank you Phoebe, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Joey, and Monica, for coming into my life and calming my fears through laughter during a trying time. The show will forever be significant to me because it reminds me of the special time I got to spend with my boy, and the early weeks of his life, when I didn’t think I could make it. Now I know I can handle anything thrown at me … with a little help from some Friends (see what I did there!)

IMG_4760

A picture of my sweet boy watching his favorite show!

The OC is Out of Control

“I was rooting for you; we were all rooting for you!”

In recent years, I have very much become a member of Team Kelly Dodd, despite her past behavior …

… AND what about the “no wonder her daughter doesn’t speak to her” comment. I’ve swept it all under the bridge, forgiven her, and jumped on her bandwagon. I’ve also understood why she’s been so upset at the ladies recently, between Vicki’s coke accusation & Tamra’s train comment. But despite all of it, Kelly was back to her old ways on this week’s episode.

I’m not talking about hitting Shannon on the head; honestly, I don’t think Kelly even hit her that hard & Shannon will take any excuse to dramatically play the victim. I’m talking about everything nasty Kelly said to Gina (talk about kicking someone when they’re down …) & how awful she was to Tamra on the phone. Kelly just got downright dirty this week (oh! And did you catch her on WWHL?! Awkwwwwward!)

The Emily of it all….

I have a bone to pick with Emily too. I’m disappointed because she was another one I was cheering for this season.

I’m sad at how she’s treating Gina, who is a mess. Emily should have 💯 percent been sympathetic about why Gina wouldn’t go to Vegas and defended her when Kelly attacked Gina. I think Emily is simply jealous of Gina’s relationship with the blondes, plus she’s sad. She has to be; wouldn’t you be sad if you were married to Shane this season?

In closing …

While I’m not of the same mind with Kelly and how she acted this week,  I do agree with her that Shannon should not have been drinking if she had a concussion, and I can understand Kelly’s reasons to not trust Shannon (and if you’ve been keeping up with them presently, nothing seems better). I’m also glad Kelly made up & comforted Gina. You could say that Kelly redeemed herself in the end (until next week).

I’m proud of Vicki this episode. She stayed in her room when Kelly was talking about her right outside. She didn’t seem to start any drama either (yet). And one more time Kelly, TAMRA said “train” not Vicki (omg I’m defending Vicki 🤦🏻‍♀️).

The scene in the yoga studio confirmed to me that Emily is for sure jealous of Gina’s friendship with Tamra & Shannon. However, Emily handled herself well because Tamra & Shannon’s faces alone would have pissed me off.

The Orange County housewives are definitely bringing the drama this season and if you’re not watching due to lack of entertainment in the past, pick it back up asap!

Next week looks just as epic!🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊

32 Thoughts From the 2019 Emmys

Two of my favorites: award shows & television!

  • Critic’s predictions (if you care…)
  • Red Carpet tiiiiime!
  • Okay, so I missed a majority of the Red Carpet due to a fussy baby, but here are my takeaways…
    • Fox’s interviews were so awkward (sorry Jenny & Kelly …)
    • Everyone looked incredibly uncomfortable due to the heat, especially the makeup jobs. Plus the entire carpet seemed super congested and packed.
    • However, my favorite looks included Sophie Turner, Emilia Clarke, RuPaul, and Annie Murphy!

Showtime!

  • Why didn’t we just start with Walter White? This is really great! I didn’t get the Homer Simpson or Anthony Anderson bit.
  • A Mrs. Maisel win! I bet we will be seeing many of those tonight 🎭
  • Told you (Best Supporting Actor & Actress)!
  • Fox pushing their shows haaaaard!! (No one wants a second season of The Masked Singer …)
  • WTF is on Nick Cannon’s head?
  • Omg this show is going to go on for.ev.er if they continue to do stupid bits before each award. I’m really not liking this on Fox.
  • Love Phoebe Wallet-Bridge’s dress!

  • What is Fleabag?
  • I was convinced I watched a majority of the shows nominated …. in this first hour, I am being proven wrong.
  • Yeeeeeah! I don’t watch Barry, but I loved Bill Hader on SNL!
  • Did you hear the screams for Catherine O’Hara?? Robbed!!

Image result for schitts creek catherine ohara

  • Kim tripped huh? And were people booing her & Kendall?? (Edit: apparently it was laughter)
  • GOT babiesssss …. and a retelling of Season 8 …. and the cast on stage!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Here come the categories I don’t know & don’t care about …
  • ZANDAYA!🔥🔥🔥
  • I thought Chernobyl was a documentary ….

Bedtime!

If you’re a follower of the blog or a friend in life, you probably know we had a baby in July (Oh [Baby] Boy! Reality Check!!!) & this was my first award show to watch with him. So, I didn’t get to view it all live (bedtime was about 9pm); baby boy & I will stay off Twitter, wake up early, & finish the show in the morning … obviously commenting on anything maje!

Monday morning …

and all my favorite categories: Drama!

Image result for drama drama drama gif

  • Beyond happy for Peter Dinklage; him as Tyrion Lannister this season was the best performance of the show!
  • Ughhh, still so many annoying bits too!
  • YASSSSS Julia Garner! Obviously I was rooting for a GOT win, but if you watch Ozark, (which you should be!), you’d know how amazing and convincing she is as Ruth.
  • Billy Porter, from Pose, won Best Actor Drama. I’m glad for him and his amazing hat on this historic win, however, Pose was the only show nominated in this category I don’t watch, thus I was basically rooting for anyone, but Billy Porter. Still though, congrats!
  • Jason Bateman won for directing an episode of Ozark; I guess if he can’t win Best Actor, this works for me!
  • Jodie Comer wins for Best Actress and once again Mandy Moore is robbed of an Emmy for playing one woman at every phase of life (but childhood, I guess, if you want to get specific🙄).
  • Did Schitts Creek really not win anything, after finally getting respect & being nominated?

Image result for schitts creek gif

  •  Game of Thrones wins for Best Drama! Duh.

My final thought is a quote shared during the show from Chairman & CEO of the Television Academy, Frank Scherma, who, no one knows or cares about …. BUT! what he said stuck with me deeply because I feel it totally explains my blog, love of television, & why I watch so much content … he said:

“When someone says ‘You’ve got to see this,’ what they’re saying is ‘I want to share this experience with you'”

and that could not be MORE TRUE! He also went on to talk about instead of saying “hi” as a greeting, we now ask “What are you watching?” Television, movies, pop culture, etc. brings us together, helps us find common ground, and can build bonds. Hence, my love for it💖
