“Holidazed & Confused” RHONY S10 E9

In this pocket- sized edition of Ra-hony, I want to cover four things…

the continuation of the Carole & Bethenny fight
Luann’s finding out about Tom (again)
Ramona yelling at Bethenny
“Next time on the Real Housewives of New York”

Point 1: Am I the only one confused about this fight? Is it just because Bethenny called Adam an operator? Is it because Carole didn’t support Bethenny with Puerto Rico? Is there something deeper we are missing? OH! What about Carole dragging Luann into it (“You called Luann a loser!”) & Lu and B almost squaring off (which luckily they got over quick) ??? How funny was it though, when Carole and Bethenny started round two as the girls were partying downstairs LOL LOL LOL LOL !!!! And after all of it, I think they made up in the end? Does anyone know for sure? Oh well, B liked my tweet (see below), so I’m team Bethenny all the way!

Point 2: “And he has some busted up, banged up girlfriend!” This whole scene could not have been better: the “keep quiet” head shake by Ramona, Bethenny’s use of the the terms ‘girl code’ & ‘uncool,’ and the ending with Lu calling him a dick, exclamation point … PRICELESS! What makes it even crazier is we all know this leads to what happens in Palm Springs over Christmas Eve, as Luann discussed taking her soon to be infamous trip.

Point 3: First off, WHY IS HER DOG IN THE STREET? Maybe that wasn’t the first thing you noticed, perhaps instead it was Ramona answering, “This is Ramona” like, do you not have Bethenny saved in your phone? Per their conversation, Ramona totally enjoys when other people argue! (umm, who threw out the word “puppet” in regards to the Bethenny/Carole fight??) Ramona also immediately ran to Carole at the blood drive, spewing that Bethenny thinks Carole’s lonely & sad … but lastly, what might be most noteworthy here is the iconic Ra. mon. uh. yell. ing. at. some. one. sound. ing. like. a. type. write. rrrr. mom. ment! (Head tilt, head tilt, head tilt). “Oh. my. gosh. Beth. enny! You. do. not. su. pport. other. women!”

Point 4: Thinking the episode was over, I looked forward to watching the “next time” moment, but quickly learned I was not ready; I was left SHOOK!!! THE MOMENT HAS COME FOR LUANN’S ARREST AND BRAVO PLAYED A NEVER BEFORE SCENE PORTION OF THE FREAKING POLICE VIDEO ON THE NEXT TIME SEQUENCE!! THEN, the news footage was played, where you can clearly see she’s wasted; did you know the judge told her to stop drinking and to get a lawyer ? I didn’t. THEN, all the girls were gossiping gossiping gossiping. Next week’s episode is going to be TELEVISION CHANGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JUSTICE FOR GROCERY STORE JOE! (A Bachelorette Rant)

It only got worse from there. I’m going to try extremely hard to not turn this post into a full on rant, but I may not be able to control myself. You should also know I had a “first impressions” post set to launch today. However, after getting a full night’s sleep I felt justice needed to be served, so I went in a different direction.

We have to start with Grocery Store Joe!

How Becca could send this adorable human home is beyond me! Let me lay out the evidence as to why Grocery Store Joe should have stayed: He’s from Chicago, not LA or Florida like every other douche canoe this season. Two, he has an real job, not sales rep or personal trainer or instafamous. What is the job you ask? He owns a freaking grocery store!

Think about his knowledge of produce & cooking, plus having to be able to manage & work well with others? He’s probably very helpful too. Also, if you get on his Instagram (@joeamabile1), he posts more about food than probably any other Bachelor contestant even (who instead would rather post gym or beach selfies all day). Exhibit 500 as to why she should have kept him: he flubbed his limo speech. He was so real and so nervous and so cute, he forgot everything he was going to say. Maybe that didn’t leave an impression on Becca, but it did on America!

Seriously, go type in ‘Joe Bachelorette’ on Twitter & see what pops up!

Chris Harrison hinted that Grocery Store Joe would be heading to Paradise, but what we really need …. is Grocery Store Joe as the next Bachelor! I am a Bachelor baby and have only watched two seasons, Nick & Arie’s. My best friend who forced me to become part of Bachelor Nation tells me all the time how screwed I’ve been on bachelors and how I’ve never seen a good male lead. I mean, we all thought it was going to be Peter last season, only to find out it was Arie. And, while ABC will try to promise not another villain like him, you know they loved the ratings spike with the Becca breakup.

Okayyyyy, this is starting to turn into a rant, so I’ll try to wrap it up, but I have two other things to say about two other guys “good” guys. Colton. Mr. Aly Raisman himself. Twitter seemed to really like him, and I agree he’s hot. But I feel like he’s a bit thirsty and then the whole “I’m a virgin” story line in the promos? Yeah right! I’m telling you guys … I don’t trust him or like him and I think ya’ll should watch out!

My final rant and disappointment … I really liked Garrett. Even though his intro with the Chris Farley impression was truly terrible, I thought the fishing thing at the mansion was cute, plus he got the first impression rose and I trust (trusted) Becca, so I was here for him. I even had him in my top four (along with Grocery Store Joe) But theeeeennn, I learned he was this guy ….

Look, MHH is not here to get political and all opinions are welcome, but as a teacher, when someone likes a photo mocking a school shooting survivor, I draw the line and am done with them, aka Garrett!

So who does that leave to like?

Well I like Blake, the guy who came in with the ox, and I like Christon, the guy who dunked the basketball. I’m sure as the season goes on, I’ll find others to like too. But for right now, I’m so disappointed in my girl Becca, like so disappointed. But I guess all I can do is be patient, see how the season plays out, and start some sort of petition to get Grocery Store Joe to be the next Bachelor!

This Season on the Real Housewives of Potomac

Car crashes, geriatric grannies, Nemacolin, dizzy bitches, & scentertainment

Going into it’s third season, the Potomac ladies have officially made it; they have all the things you need to be a longstanding housewife franchise: arguments, trips, everyone insisting on everyone apologizing to everyone, and closed door conversations. However, My Hollywood Hangover is here to get more in depth.

The Women

Since the first season and her “spring chicken” tagline, I’ve always been Team Ashley. I think I tend to gravitate to the younger housewives because I can relate more to them (except Meghan King Edmonds; I never liked her once). I think Ashley is gorgina, fun, & playful. . Plus, Ashley’s had the best reaction faces this season (or possibly of any season, of any franchise!).

Watching her last week, arguing with her mother, was devastating to watch and my whole heart goes out to her for that.

I also a big fan of the green eyed monsters (I think that’s what Monique called them). Gizelle has been my other long standing favorite of Potomac, where as I didn’t really love Robin. But, I respect Robin, and all she’s going through with Juan, plus you have to admit, Gizelle and Robin together are TV gold!

I feel pretty indifferent about Candiace … I like her, but don’t loooove her (I never do with the new girls though).

The women I am truly not not not here for however, are Karen, Monique, and messy messy Charrisse (who I am beyond glad is no longer full time). I’ve never liked how Karen thinks “she’e so above everyone dahling”, plus you can just see how she’s lying about Ray, his legal issues, and “blue eyes.”

Monique thinks since she made it a second season, she’s the new star of the show, smoking her cigars left and right … only to inhale and throw up in the bushes?! What the … ?? I also completely completely agree with the fact that her reputation could be ruined by the accusation of having a drinking problem or being too drunk to drive. But I am so confused as to how she would just fall asleep in the middle of the day driving, enough to hit a tree, and then hop on a bus for a girls’ trip the next day was it, like nothing happened. I’d be devastated if something like that happened to me, and would probably want time with my family to reflect. Oh well, not in her shoes right?

And finally, Charrisse? Girl there is a reason you are just a side piece this season.

Booooo.

Nemacolin

First off, this moment, was PRICELESS! Ashley did look like a younger version of Karen! I also loved how Ashley could repeat so many lines from past seasons; I’m also glad Karen had a sense of humor about it!

The trip looked really fun, and I was happy to see the ladies not afraid to try activities in nature! While we got to see some fun arguments (Charrisse v. Candiace, Karen v. Gizelle), Nemacolin also taught us a few things: Karen can be an angry drunk, Ray once asked Karen for a divorce, & Karen may set Charrisse up with “blue eyes.”

Ashley claimed Karen & Mr. Blue Eyes were spotted … at Ashley’s restaurant, Oz! That is extremely hard for me to believe. Think about it: if you’re having a date with the person you’re having an affair with, why would you go to your friend’s restaurant?! Perhaps it wasn’t a date, but they had too much to drink and that was how the “compromising position” occurred? Or, it just didn’t happen like Karen said (shoulder shrug) ????????

Revelations & Conversations

Well, this was the image we were left with before tonight’s episode airs. I’m excited to see where the rest of the season goes. I really hope the ladies take a longer, across the ocean trip because I’m certain drama would ensue if they did. I could care less about Karen’s perfume or Candiace’s wedding (think it will air on TV?), but I do hope Ashley gets things worked out with her mom & husband, and I hope Gizelle gets some answers from Sherman because she deserves a good man!

Movie of the Week: Netflix’s The Kissing Booth

Movie of the week is back!

My girl, Claudia Oshry Soffer, brought up the movie The Kissing Booth on her morning show, The Morning Toast. Then her sister, Jackie Oshry, watched it and the two of them couldn’t stop discussing it. So, like a good fan, I decided it would be the first movie of summer vacation! Here we go… !!!

Uhhh …Lee has a really nice car!

Why didn’t she just tie something around her waist or wear tights? And really, you wear school uniforms every day & only have two pairs of pants?!?!
Ohhhh … Flynn just called Elle his “little sister” #ouch
Oh, but these girls’ skirts aren’t too short?!
Lee could be way better looking if he cut (or at least styled) his hair.

They’re totes cute and all, but I feel really bad when the brother finds out; we all know it’s going to happen!
OH NO THINGS ARE GOING TO GET RUINED; I HAVE A MAJOR PIT!
Now we’re in the moment in every rom com where all the characters are mad at one another and life seems hopeless.
Of course Dance Dance Revolution is what brings them back together (is it still called that?)

Overall, I’d give the movie 4/5 stars. The cheese level is extreme, but if you’re a fan of romantic comedies, you’ll enjoy it. The bonus scenes at the end were cute. But, the best part of the whole thing …

Six Seasons: What I’ve Learned About the Vanderpump Cast

Martin Scorsese watches Vanderpump Rules!

But honestly, at this point, who doesn’t watch Vanderpump? I even got my Bravo hating husband to watch live with me on Monday nights! After six seasons, the show is at the top of its game and even got nominated for a MTV Movie & TV Award. However, I’m not here to discuss how great the show is after six seasons, I’m here to discuss what I’ve learned about each cast member after all these years.

Lala

The show could stay on the air forever if every couple seasons it brought on cast members like Lala and James. I don’t know if you know it, but the world is here for Lala Kent! She’s Stassi 2.0 and if you’re following her journey with “her man” on social media, she’s very much in line to leave Vanderpump and become the newest Beverly Hills housewife! I thought she schooled James about how she thought they were becoming better people, not saying horrible, body shaming comments about others, plus she’s so honest, how can you not like her? Side note, I bought of one of her lip glosses … stuff is the real deal! What did I learn about Lala Kent from this reunion? While I may not fully agree with her definition of feminism, the girl is a boss bitch who I want to hang out with!

James

I don’t really feel I’ve seen much of a change in James since his first season. Is he drinking less and getting along with most people? Yes, and obviously the scenes with him and Jax are television gold. Plus he got his job at SUR back and See You Next Tuesdays is brilliant … however, he still drinks too much at times and talks out of his ass. So what did I learn about James Kennedy from this reunion? He is pretty much the same dude, only now with a robot girlfriend and some minor improvements.

Stassi

Stassi said she wanted to be “well-rounded” instead of a waitress this reunion. I like how Stassi isn’t always the focal point of the show anymore, but is more in a sideline character, friend role. I have been closely following her and Beau on social media & her podcast, so I pray he’s on the next season because they seem really great together! What did I learn about Stassi Schroeder from this reunion? She has self-reflected, and I think now is fully honest with the type of person she wants to be!

Jax

Jax’s “hashtag me too” comment pretty much sums him up: he’s never fully aware of what is going on, nor does he understand important issues. He put Brittany though [“rot in”] hell this season, but I truly believe the death of his dad made him finally realize what is important in life, and I really do think he’s trying to be a better person. “But what about his attack on Scheana then?” I actually watched that part of the reunion twice; the first time seeing it I didn’t think it was that bad, but re-watching it … yeah it was. Jax can’t change over night though, and I agree with many of the cast, he was lashing out because he was still in pain. What did I learn about Jax Taylor from this reunion? At least he’s trying now.

Brittany

This reunion completely made me change how I view Brittany, mainly in terms of her relationship with Jax. I say that because more than once Brittany said something along the lines of not judging others because you don’t truly know what someone is going through. She said this in regards to the comments she received about sticking with Jax, but also when Andy asked Britt her thoughts towards Lala’s feminist attitude. What did I learn about Brittany Cartwright from this reunion? I really believe she’s an angel sent from heaven to make earth, and especially self-centered people from LA, better!

Tom Schwartz & Katie

I wanted to put Katie and Tom as a package deal because I don’t feel we had too much drama from them individually this season, especially after the beating they took last season leading up to their wedding. I could NOT be prouder of how hard Katie has worked on herself, plus the bravery she showed in sharing the story of her accident. Sweet Tom, while I’m proud he’s getting his shit together and becoming a business owner, he has got to stop blacking out. I completely see where Katie is coming from; it’s so scary. So what did I learn about Katie and Tom from this reunion? Marriage is helping them become the best versions of themselves.

Tom Sandoval & Ariana

I simply don’t have that much to say. I thought it was cool how Tom told Stassi that Patrick “smothered her flame” … so sweet, until he got salty about the fact that Lisa didn’t force her to waitress #whatever. As far as Ariana goes, she replied to one of my tweets last week so that was cool …? She supports Scheana so that’s cool …? What did I learn about Tom and Ariana from this reunion? They need to be on the show and probs always will be, but to me they are neither here nor there.

Scheana

I reeeeeeally don’t want to female bash here, but it’s reeeeeeally hard for me to say anything nice about Scheana. I mean she was bad enough obsessing over Rob, saying horrible things about Shay only to come out & then say good things about him on the reunion, but to say she only watches herself on the show? Girl, this is (mostly) your full time job and you can’t spend one hour, one night a week, to watch the others so you can contribute to the conversation at the reunion?! Over it. What did I learn about Scheana “I know her last name isn’t Shay anymore but I’m too lazy to find out what it is” from this reunion? She only walked off set because her makeup was messing up, not because she was truly upset.

Kristen

Ever since Kristen got fired from SUR, she’s been slowly fading into the background of the show. She’s 100% a side character, and who knows, maybe she purposely sat up with James until seven in the morning in Mexico just so she could have a story line. With all that being said, I’d definitely be sad to see her go and I do believe she’s grown alot in the six seasons the show has been on. What did I learn about Kristen Doute from this reunion? She’s boring, but necessary.

Lisa Vanderpump

I learned one thing and one thing only from watching Lisa Vanderpump this season and especially at the reunion: get her off Housewives and keep her only on Pump Rules; I mean telling Kristen to “shut up” was GOLD! She doesn’t really bring anything like that to RHOBH (sorry not sorry).

Cheers to another fabulous season of Vanderpump Rules! I hope this show never ends!

I am having a major Royal Wedding ending hangover, but luckily I can relive it all here!

Welcome to My Hollywood Hangover, a pop culture blog started by a small-town, Kansas girl, obsessed with all things celebrities and Bravo TV. Unless you live under a rock, wait scratch that, I have absolutely NO IDEA and no words to even describe how you wouldn’t know the Royal Wedding was this past weekend. It was absolutely EVERYWHERE, on every channel, and on every social media. I was here for ALL OF IT!

I remember being in college and waking my boyfriend, now husband, up at who knows what time to watch William and Kate get married. I wasn’t as into it as I was this wedding (we’ll get to that shortly), but I knew it was a global big deal and wanted to be witness to it.

Since I feel closer to Meghan and Harry’s ages, plus am obsessed with The Crown, and have read multiple Royal biographies, including Diana: Her True Story, I was way more invested this time around. PLUS Meghan is AMERICAN (not to mention bi-racial and a divorcee). With we learned anything from Wallace Simpson, this wedding was going to be a HUGE HUGE deal! I also learned from Vanity Fair’s ‘Love and Royals’ issue, Meghan and I are birthday buddies, so safe to say … I’m obsessed!

So let’s get right to it shall we?!

Favorite Hat:

Hats on hats on hats! I’m not sure if you knew this but “tradition calls for morning dress and morning dress calls for a hat” according to Vanity Fair, so hats were required at Harry & Meghan’s wedding. Boy did we see some! My favorite, however, had to be Camilla Parker Bowels.

While she may not be my favorite person in the story of the Royal Family, England has come to embrace her as a part of it. I loved the pink, I loved it’s size, and I loved the feathery look. Her hat synced her whole look together. Speaking of…

Favorite Look:

I did NOT want to give this award to this person, but there was no arguing. The person who had the entire look from dress to hat to shoes to plus one was Amal Clooney

The canary yellow was bright and festive, fit for the beautiful day. The veil was subtle and perfect, but added to her hat. And that train on her dress?! If you watched live and were tuned in to the Today Show, Hoda and Savannah couldn’t stop talking about the train of her dress. The reason I say I didn’t want to annointe Amal with best look is because she’s an obvious choice. But, as I was watching back clips of guests walking in, Amal *literally* (Chris Trager voice) looked like a sculpted model. Serena Williams and Doria Ragland were runner -ups!

Most Disappointed:

I’ll come right out and say it: Abigail Spencer.

Google image search her and include the words “Timeless character” and you’ll probably get something very similar to this look right here, hence I say, she should have stepped it up for the Royal Wedding!

The Dress:

I figured Meghan wouldn’t wear anything flashy because a) the Royals are more understated, b) this is her second wedding dress, and c) she’s 36. When you’re mid-thirties, marrying for the second time and it’s to the Prince of England, flash isn’t a word used to describe the dress you’ll be wearing.

So with that being said, I thought her dress was boring. Now, before you get set to argue me, it was only boring in comparison to Kate and Diana’s. Kate’s dress will go down in history as my favorite wedding dress ever, but that’s because I’m a big lace fan. My own wedding dress was covered in lace.

However, Meghan’s dress was absolutely perfect for this wedding and for her. It was elegant, simple, graceful, and I think the term all the news outlets used was regal. Because of that, it was perfect.

And that veil! It was my favorite part of her look!

Many were saying Meghan’s makeup and hair were basic. I thought so too. But, the more I went back and looked at images of her and her dress, I actually liked that she had very basic makeup. I like that she looked like herself, kind of like an everyday Meghan. I wouldn’t want her to be wearing so much makeup, she didn’t look like we’d expect. Plus, she had enough love and Markle Sparkle in her eye, she didn’t need a ton of makeup!

I don’t know who I stole this picture from, but the person *literally* made her into a Disney princess.

The Ceremony:

From the moment Meghan walked in by herself with grace, to Prince Charles leading her to Harry, the ceremony was beautiful. I love love LOVED the performance of “Stand By Me” by that gospel choir. But, my absolute favorite moments from the ceremony had to be how nervous Harry looked & his sweet sweet words to her. If you don’t know what I’m talking about her, simply look it up and you’ll find a million gifs of him saying things like, “You look amazing” and “I’m so lucky.” They both looked extremely in love; you could especially see it in their eyes. Also, for as nervous as Harry looked, Meghan looked cool as cucumber and super poised, which just shows that she can be the ying to his yang!

Final Thoughts:

If I didn’t already mention it, the wedding was everything to me. I loved how much of a big deal with was, how excited the world was, and how happy both Meghan and Harry seemed. I especially loved loved loved Meghan’s evening dress and that cool car Harry drove them in.

I’m so unbelievably sad it’s all over, but so incredibly happy I got to witness it and had social media to share my thoughts. Speaking of sharing my thoughts, school is out in two days! Then My Hollywood Hangover will be back in full force, and is planning to be bigger and better than ever!
